Professional shotgun microphone featuring a supercardioid polar pattern, electret condenser element, and integrated controls including low-cut filter, on/off switch, and pad for versatile audio capture.
The RODE VMR VideoMic is a camera-mount shotgun microphone designed for precise directional audio recording. It utilizes a 0.5-inch electret condenser diaphragm with a supercardioid polar pattern to focus on sound sources directly in front while minimizing off-axis noise. The microphone offers a frequency response range from 40 Hz to 20 kHz and supports a maximum sound pressure level of 134 dB. Integrated controls include a low-cut/high-pass filter set at 80 Hz, on/off switch, and selectable pads (-10 dB and -20 dB) to manage input levels. Powered by a 9 V battery (not included), the VMR outputs analog audio via a 3.5 mm TRS male connector. Its solid-state JFET circuitry ensures reliable performance, and the microphone mounts securely using a 3/8"-16 female thread. Compact and lightweight, it measures 98 mm in diameter by 248 mm in length and weighs 171 grams, making it suitable for professional video and audio applications.
