Copperfree aluminum forms the main enclosure, providing corrosion resistance and durability for this explosionproof receptacle. It includes a 3-pole 150 amp FD circuit breaker offering interlocked connect and disconnect operation along with short circuit and thermal time delay overload protection. The receptacle operates at 600 volts AC with four poles and three wires. Brass contacts maintain constant pressure to ensure reliable electrical connection, supported by beryllium copper wire springs for performance stability. Fiber glass reinforced polyester insulating blocks provide strong dielectric and mechanical strength while minimizing arc tracking. The energized contacts are deeply recessed to reduce accidental contact risks. Mounting is surface type with 1-1/2 inch NPT tapped conduit openings both top and bottom. The unit is suitable for lighting systems, conveyors, heaters, motor-generator sets, air conditioners, compressors, and pumps. Its weatherproof spring door keeps dust out when the plug is not in use, and a screw cap is supplied. NEMA ratings include 3, 3R, 4, and 4X, with the flip cover appropriate for NEMA 3 and 3R applications, and NEMA 4 rating maintained with an Appleton NEMA 4 plug installed. UL listings cover Class I Division 1 and 2 for Groups B, C, D; Class II Division 1 and 2 for Groups F, G; and Class III environments, complying with UL 1010, UL 894, UL 1682, and UL 1686 standards.
