Stereo audio balun designed for line level unbalanced analog audio transmission over UTP cable up to 5,000 feet with minimal insertion loss and high common mode rejection.
The MuxLab Stereo Audio Balun (Model 500027) facilitates the transmission of line level unbalanced analog audio signals over unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables. It supports transparent audio transmission with a bandwidth suitable for distances up to 1,000 feet at 60Hz to 20kHz, and up to 5,000 feet at 100Hz to 20kHz. The device features low insertion loss of less than 1 dB per balun pair and offers common mode rejection greater than 60 dB at 1 kHz. It is designed with impedance matching to accommodate audio sources under 600 ohms and receivers of 10 k ohms or greater, with a 4:1 impedance transformation ratio. The balun connects via two RCA male 6-inch cable leads and one RJ45 connector, housed in a compact ABS fire retardant plastic enclosure. Operating temperature ranges from 32 to 131°F (0 to 55°C).
