The 97x Proximity Perfect® readers provide the convenience of proximity technology in a variety of styles. All are economical and easy to install and provide a full range of field-selectable operation modes. All models include a rugged, weather-resistant ABS plastic housing. Model 97X readers mount directly on a wall or to a standard USA dual-width electrical box. Models 970 and 972 are designed for conventional wall installation. Metal wall installation requires the metal backplate (supplied with Models 971 and 973). Back-to-back reader installation requires the use of Models 971 and 973 with an optional isolation plate. This plate prevents a badge from being read by a reader mounted on the opposite side of a door. Models 972 and 973 include a keypad for use when a Personal Identification Number (PIN) entry is required for added security. Each reader includes a new mechanical tamper switch that reports if the reader is completely removed from the wall, in addition to detecting when the reader has been separated from its backplate.
