It extends PoE over Coax to distances of 6000' when paired with a compatible device like the EC-Base Extender (available separately). This unit can be powered locally with an optional adapter or via a PoE switch. It features 802.1x port-based authentication, along with power negotiation for mode A first, then mode B for non-compliant 802.3af/at devices.
