250 MCM XHHW-2 building wire is suitable for general purpose applications in conduit, underground, or other recognized raceways. Rated for 600 volts, this wire works in wet or dry locations with temperatures up to 90°C. Its insulation has a dielectric constant below 3.5, which supports low-leakage circuits.
The conductor is stranded, uncoated bare copper built to ASTM standards. It features cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation with a thickness of 1.64 mm (0.065 inches) and an overall diameter of 17.05 mm (0.671 inches). Ampacity ratings are 215 amps at 60°C, 255 amps at 75°C, and 290 amps at 90°C.
Available in black, this wire includes sequential foot markings on reels of 250 KCMIL and larger to simplify measurement. It meets UL-44, CSA C22.2 No. 38, NEC Article 310, and other industry standards.
