The API Audio 525A is a discrete FET compressor and limiter module for 500-series racks. It features variable threshold, output, attack, an analog VU meter for monitoring gain reduction, and a unique Ceiling control. The unit includes a compression/limit switch for 2:1 or 20:1 ratios, adjustable attack time from 15 μs to 15 ms, and seven release modes. It also has a hardwired bypass switch and balanced inputs and outputs. The 525A is an exact reissue of the original 525 compressor with API's proprietary transformers and op-amps.
