The Corning MIC Tight-Buffered Cable features 24 strands and is rated for plenum use, making it suitable for indoor horizontal, vertical riser, and plenum applications. It uses multimode OM4 fibers with a 50 µm core diameter for high-performance data transmission.
Each fiber is individually jacketed with TBII Buffered Fibers to simplify stripping and termination. The fibers are grouped into subunits around a dielectric central member. The core is protected by flexible, spirally wrapped aluminum interlocking armor providing enhanced mechanical protection and crush resistance compared to unarmored cables.
The outer jacket is flame-retardant and available in 12 colors including blue, orange, green, brown, and others for easy identification. This cable offers reliable performance in environments requiring rugged construction and flame safety compliance.
