This braking resistor is an essential component for variable speed drives in the Altivar series. It has an Ohmic value of 8 Ohms at 20°C and supports maximum transient braking torque by dissipating braking energy during operation.
Its IP23 protection index allows for outdoor mounting, provided air inlets and outlets are unobstructed to ensure proper cooling. The resistor weighs 25.5 kg and is mounted externally to the enclosure.
