Hoja de especificacionesThe Square D Type S thermal overload unit CC87.7 is engineered to safeguard motors, controllers, and branch circuit conductors from excessive heating caused by prolonged over currents, including locked rotor conditions. It operates based on trip curves specific to overload current conditions, trip in 20 seconds or less under overload scenarios, and is selected using the motor's full load current and a dedicated selection table.
Constructed as a single-piece unit, the thermal element passes motor current through a small heater winding. When overload occurs, heat melts a special solder, allowing a ratchet wheel to spin free, which opens the control circuit contacts and disconnects the motor contacts.
