A buying request that suppliers can quote without five follow-up emails

A good RFQ should let a supplier decide quickly whether they can quote. At minimum include manufacturer and part number when known, quantity, acceptable condition, required delivery timing and destination ZIP or country. What else makes a buying request easier to price accurately?

Include the full technical description for ambiguous part numbers, any required certifications, whether alternates are allowed and the requested quote validity. If the quantity is large, say whether partial quantity offers are useful.
For freight-sensitive items, destination and packaging expectations matter early. A great unit price can become irrelevant if the material is oversized or ships from the wrong region.
