Electric strike alignment problems that look like controller faults

An access-control panel may energize a strike correctly while the door still refuses to open. Mechanical preload, frame alignment and latch geometry can make an electrical problem look like a software problem. What is the fastest way to separate the two?

Confirm voltage at the strike during activation, then test the strike with the door open. If it releases open but binds when closed, inspect preload and alignment before changing controller settings.
Check the strike's actual operating voltage range under load too. Long cable runs can create enough drop that the device clicks but does not release reliably.
