The SM1 microphone contains an omni-directional electret element with a 25-foot range, capturing sound from all directions. It includes a low-noise MOSFET pre-amplifier, adjustable gain, and a treble boost circuit to improve clarity during time-lapse recordings. The limiter and treble boost functions have selectable on/off settings. The microphone uses a 3-position Euro-style connector and is built to flush mount on a standard gang electrical box.
The SM3 amplifier connects via standard RCA jacks to recorders, DVRs, or other devices. It has a 3-watt power amplifier, a 3-inch full-range speaker, and a tape monitor switch using a 3.5mm jack. The amplifier operates on 12 VDC at 250mA with reverse polarity protection and a fuse for added safety.
