Auto Eject

The Auto Eject is an automatic shoreline disconnect designed specifically for emergency and specialty vehicles such as fire apparatus, rescue vehicles, ambulances, and other similar equipment. Its primary function is to prevent these vehicles from driving away while still connected to AC shore power, which could lead to damage to both the shoreline cables and the vehicle's electrical systems. The Auto Eject is mounted on the side of the vehicle, providing a secure power input connection while ensuring that the shoreline plug is automatically disconnected when the engine is started.

The eject solenoid is connected to the vehicle’s starter circuit, meaning it becomes energized as the engine is cranked. This triggers an immediate ejection of the shoreline plug from the receptacle, effectively disconnecting the power source. This automatic process helps eliminate the risk of damage that can occur if drivers forget to manually disconnect shore power before departing. By ensuring a reliable and automatic disconnection, the Auto Eject enhances safety and protects both the vehicle and the shoreline infrastructure.

A spring-loaded weatherproof cover is included with the Auto Eject, which automatically closes when the shoreline plug is removed. This feature helps prevent water and other contaminants from entering the receptacle, ensuring long-term durability and protection against environmental factors. The Auto Eject is available in 15-amp and 20-amp configurations, both operating on 120 VAC.
