This 8 AWG XHHW-2 building wire consists of stranded bare copper conductors insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) meeting UL-44 standards. The insulation thickness is 1.14 mm (0.045 inches) with an overall diameter of approximately 0.236 inches. It is rated for 600 volts and suitable for wet or dry locations with a maximum operating temperature of 90ºC.
The wire is sold by the foot with a minimum order of 1 foot and a maximum of 1000 feet. It complies with multiple industry standards including UL, ASTM, CSA, NEC, and ICEA. Applications include general conduit wiring, underground installations, feeders, and branch circuits where Type XHHW-2 wire is allowed.
