The RDL DS-TPS8A is an active two-pair sender designed for Format-A twisted pair audio transmission. It features two unbalanced stereo inputs with mini-jack and RJ45 connections, delivering high-fidelity audio with low distortion and noise.
The RDL DS-TPS8A active sender supports two 10 kΩ unbalanced stereo inputs using Format-A twisted pair wiring. It accepts input signals via a front panel mini-jack and a rear panel RJ45 connector, accommodating input levels from -10 dBV up to +10 dBV maximum. The unit provides a 12 dB gain and outputs audio through an RJ45 connector following RDL TP Format-A standards. It maintains a frequency response of 20 Hz to 50 kHz within ±0.5 dB, with total harmonic distortion plus noise below 0.1% across the frequency range and under 0.01% at 1 kHz. Noise levels remain below -85 dB for signals under +4 dBu and below -75 dB when multiple TPS8A modules are connected. Crosstalk is minimized to less than 85 dB at 1 kHz and less than 75 dB across 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The device offers over 20 dB of headroom above +4 dBu. Power is supplied via RJ45 at 24 VDC and 30 mA. Operating temperature ranges from 32 to 131°F (0 to 55°C). The compact unit measures 1.33 x 1.72 x 4.11 inches (3.37 x 4.36 x 10.43 cm) and weighs 0.40 lb (0.18 kg). It is compatible with various mounting options including WB-1U wall boxes and standard DECORA cover plates.
