The RDL FP-TPS4A is a Format-A two-pair audio sender designed for transmitting balanced and unbalanced audio signals over twisted pair cabling with high fidelity and low noise.
The RDL FP-TPS4A Format-A Two-Pair Audio Sender facilitates the transmission of audio signals using two Format-A signal pairs (B and C) over twisted pair cable. It accepts three inputs: two unbalanced 20 kΩ inputs (left and right) via phono jacks and one balanced 100 kΩ mono amplified input via a mini-jack. The device supports input levels of -10 dBV unbalanced and balanced power ranging from 1 W to 10 W into 8 Ω, with a nominal 2 W balanced output. The output is provided through an RJ45 connector conforming to RDL TP Format-A standards. It delivers a wide frequency response from 10 Hz to 50 kHz within ±0.1 dB, total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) below 0.05%, and noise levels under -85 dB at +4 dBu. Crosstalk performance is better than -85 dB from 10 Hz to 10 kHz and better than -80 dB from 10 kHz to 20 kHz. The unit offers headroom exceeding 18 dB above +4 dBu. Power is supplied via a locking 24 VDC jack drawing 30 mA plus connected loads, with a maximum load current of 500 mA. The compact enclosure measures 4.1 x 3.2 x 1.6 inches (10.5 x 8.6 x 4.2 cm) and weighs 0.575 lb.
