It responds to overload conditions based on trip curves, trip in 20 seconds or less, and is suitable for applications requiring Class 20 thermal protection.
Constructed as a single-piece unit, the motor current passes through a small heater winding. Under overload conditions, heat melts a special solder, allowing a ratchet wheel to spin free, which opens the control circuit contacts and disconnects the motor contacts.
