The Turtle AV JEF Dante-Enabled Microphone Preamp (model TAV-JEF) is designed for professional audio applications requiring high-quality microphone amplification and networked audio distribution. It provides a balanced XLR female microphone input with a maximum input level of 24 dBu and selectable input sensitivity settings ranging from 0 to -50 dBu. Phantom power at +48 V is available for condenser microphones. The unit supports digital audio sample rates from 44.1 to 96 kHz at 16 or 24-bit resolution, delivering a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz with ±0.5 dB accuracy. It achieves a dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio greater than 90 dB at 0 dBu, 1 kHz (A-weighted), and maintains total harmonic distortion plus noise below 0.01% at +4 dBu, 1 kHz. Network connectivity is provided via Dante/AES67 protocol with PCM 2-channel audio, featuring latency under 1 ms and selectable Dante latency settings from 2 to 10 ms. Dual locking RJ45 etherCON ports support primary and secondary network redundancy. Power over Ethernet (PoE) compliant with IEEE 802.3af simplifies installation. Control is accessible through a WebUI and API interface. The device operates reliably within 0 to 40°C and 20 to 80% non-condensing relative humidity.
