The API AUDIO 527A is a 500-series compressor/limiter module featuring selectable feedforward and feedback compression modes. It includes adjustable threshold, ratio, attack, release, and output level controls. The unit also offers two-way switches for meter in/out, stereo link, compression mode selection, knee type, and the Thrust circuit. Discrete op-amps ensure a smooth sound signature. An onboard LED meter displays gain reduction and output level. The module supports two compression topologies: feedforward and feedback. It includes a relay-based bypass switch and can be linked with other compressors for stereo applications.
